Snow inspired....

Wow is it cold out, which makes it the perfect time to stay inside peruse all the wonderful stamping galleries on the net and do some stamping. While perusing I came across this lovely card and decided to give it a try. Then I did some more perusing and came across this tutorial and decided to make a tissue box cover to go with my card. Well then you need a gift bag to go with your card and tissue box cover. So I came up with this one to match. Now I just have to figure out who I'm going to gift it too. lol

Paper: Chocolate chip, Baja breeze, Whisper white
Stamps: Dasher, Lovely as a tree, Season of Joy (on the gift bag), Bells & boughs ( card sentiment)
Ink: Chocolate chip, Baja breeze
Accessories: Stampin sponges, Two way glue pen, Dazzling diamonds glitter,
embossing folders, Merry details Sizzlits die, Champagne mist, Circle scissor plus, dimensionals, ribbon and bling from my stash.

The past 2 months.

The last 2 months have just flown by and I feel so out of the loop. I haven't stamped in ages.
I started a new job in September and that has been a bit of an adjustment. After having worked at home for so long, working outside the home is taking some getting used to. I love it though, and I'm enjoying meeting new people everyday. Maybe even some future stampers *wink* wink*.

October seems like a blur it just went so fast. Thanksgiving came and went so very quickly. I hardly had time to blink. Of course yesterday was the all so spooky Halloween, and my grandson Nicholas's 1st birthday. My where did this past yr go???? Time sure flies when you're having fun. The kids had a great time yesterday. Renee decorated the house with them and they had all kinds of yummy treats to eat and delightful friends over to help celebrate. After a spaghetti dinner the kids all dressed up for trick or treating. Ruth was a bat princess, Savannah was Dora and Nicholas was Superman.

Stampin' Up! Punch Caddies Not Available

We have discovered serious quality issues with the Punch Caddies that can not be resolved. Rather than deliver a defective product, we chose to halt production.
We are disappointed that we cannot offer the Punch Caddies for sale. But because of our ongoing commitment to providing you with the highest quality products, we simply cannot allow this product to go live. If you have additional questions about this matter, we’ve prepared a brief Q&A:

Q: What were the quality issues with the Punch Caddy?
A: Through usability testing we discovered problems with the functionality of the Punch Caddy, as well as issues with materials and aesthetics that did not meet our standards.

Q: Will you offer a Punch Caddy in the future?
A: We have no immediate plans to manufacture the Punch Caddy as it is currently designed. We will possibly look into an equivalent product in the future, but we do not have any firm plans to do so at this time.

Q: Why don’t we get a different vendor to produce the Punch Caddy?
A: The problems with the punch caddy are in the design, molds and materials. Even if we selected another vendor, it would not be possible for them to manufacture a product that would meet our quality standards.

Q: Why are items that are not yet for sale included in the Idea Book & Catalog?
A: The timelines of the Idea Book & Catalog and product development sometimes overlap, and some products are still in development when the catalog goes to press. At the time of printing, we have assurances from our vendors that the products will be ready at or shortly after catalog launch. As the Idea Book & Catalog is the Stampin’ Up! storefront, including them in the catalog provides them with the broadest exposure—much more than they would receive if we were to launch those products independent of the Idea Book & Catalog. Unfortunately, in the case of the Punch Caddy, difficulties arose that will prevent it from being offered at all. Future print runs of the 2010–2011 Idea Book & Catalog will not feature the Punch Caddy at all.

Another Lorna inspiration.

Wow is it hot today. I have no idea what the temp is today but it is definitely HOT!! So what's better than making a cool card. Once again Lorna Rande's photos have inspired me to try and recreate the beauty Lorna has captured in one of her photos. Unfortunately my camera is still acting up. I think I need a new memory card, and my skill is no where near that of Lorna. This picture doesn't do this card justice nor does it show the detail and sparkle of it. However I still want to share it with you.
If you are interested in checking out Lorna's work you can find her photos here.

Card recipe:
Stamps: Pocket silhouettes, Season of friendship, Season of joy
Paper: Basic black, More mustard, Whisper white
Ink: Sahara sand, Basic black, Craft white, More mustard, versamark.
Accessories: Sponges, Stamp a ma jig, white gel pen, blender pen, basic black stampin write marker, gold embossing powder, heat tool, Champagne mist shimmer paint, 2"x1-3/8" Oval extra large punch, scallop oval extra large punch, ribbon from my stash.

Sponging and masking and more sponging and masking

I'm really enjoying this technique and the wonderful effects you can achieve with something as simple as a few sponges, ink and post it notes for masking. Hmmmm thinking I should have a class of just this technique. This little gal is from "Summer by the sea" one of the very first sets) I bought through Stampin'Up! I was sooo sad when she retired. Every once in a while I like to pull her out and see what I can come up with. I think this one turned out fairly well.

Card recipe:

Stamps: Summer by the sea
Paper: Crumb cake, Night of navy, Rose red, Whisper white
Ink: Basic black, Wild wasabi, Rose red, Crumb cake, Baja breeze, Night of navy, Blush blossom
Accessories: Sponges, post it notes, blender pen, dimensionals, 1" circle medium punch.

Lovely as a tree.

Another favorite stamp set, and another Michelle Zindorf case. If you have time to go check out Michelle's blog I promise, you won't be disappointed. Michelle's projects are amazing!! Go check it out here.

Stamps: Lovely as a tree
Papers: Basic black, Tempting turquoise, Whisper white
Ink: Baja breeze, Tempting turquoise, Night of navy, Basic black
Accessories: Sponges, white gel pen, basic black stampin write marker, curly label extra large punch, brads

Love this little guy.

Is he not the cutest racoon ever!! The "Under the stars" stamp set is so versatile and great for all kinds of occasions and projects. Today I decided to try and case a super cute card I saw on Michelle Zindorf's blog. I did change it up a bit and I hope you all like it.

Paper: Night of Navy, Old olive, whisper white
Ink: Old olive, Sahara sand, Basic black, Baja breeze, Pacific point, Night of Navy

Thank you Holley for your wonderful inspiration.

Still not working....

This tree that a friend of mine Sara Brydges photographed inspired this tree card.

My camera that is. I've taken some photo's of a few cards I've done in the last few days. Unfortunately every picture has lines across it. I'm so frustrated with it. I've tried everything I can think of short of buying a new memory card and nothing seems to be helping. Sooo I apologize for the blurry pictures.
I've been doing a lot of blog surfing lately and have been soinspired by some of the amazingly talented people out there. These are just a few cards that I was inspired to create after surfing different blogs. I made 2 of each of these cards with matching envelopes and a cute box to put them in. They will be donated to a fund raiser for a young gal in our church who is going to Swaziland in July.

Carry over products from mini catalogues

Hi Everyone!

I thought I would post a list of all the items that were featured in the Holiday Mini & The Occasions mini that were not discontinued and are still available for purchase. These will all hopefully be in the new idea book catalogue July 1st. Until then you can order any of these products from me.

You can click on the pictures to make them bigger and print them if you would like.

RETIREMENT LISTS

Good Morning Stampers!

The retirement lists have posted! Here are the lists of the retiring products.

LAST CHANCE STAMP SETS

LAST CHANCE DEFINITELY DECORATIVE

LAST CHANCE ACCESSORIES

The accessories list shows that all of the punches are retiring - this is not technically the case... the punches are being redesigned to be the same style as the punches that are in the mini catalogues. The slim design, so the old style punches are retiring to be replaced with the slim line. All of the items with the astrick* behind it mean that there will be newer reconfigured or repackaged items in the new catalog.

Be sure and order your items as soon as possible to be sure they are still available. They have already sold out of some of the retiring card stock colors and most of the Craft ink refills!

A quick update

Hello stampers!! Sorry it's been so long since I've updated. I've been busy creating some great new projects for us to try. Unfortunately my camera is not working well and it looks like I may have to replace it. Sooooo unfortunately I'm not able to share any pics of my projects with you. Hopefully that will change soon and I can share pics with you once again. A few of the items are: a 51/2" x51/2" coaster desk cube/organizer with matching note cards. Great for a teachers gift, fathers day or even for yourself. A CD case photo album. Perfect for gift giving or to organize your own family pictures, and a suuuuuper cute picnic basket with a cheese, tomato and lettuce sandwich to go with it. I can hardly wait for you all to see them. I just know you're going to want to make your own.

I'm so excited about the new summer mini catalogue. I can't wait for you all to see it if you haven't already. The cattie runs from May 1st 2010- August 31st 2010. Really cute and super fun new items!! I'm super excited to see what everyone chooses as their new favorite items.

It was such a gorgeous day today. Just the energy boost I needed to tidy up some of my crafting things. During the process I found a box of tins I had forgotten I'd been saving for that *you never know what you might need it for * project. I set them aside and finished my tidying. It didn't take me long and I figured I'd try and think of something for those tins. I finally came up with this idea. I'm always looking for a tissue to wipe something off or to wipe my aqua painter on while crafting. So what better than a cute little tin to sit on my desk and hold a roll of tissue. This really was very simple and lots of fun. Besides whats better than recycling something old and turning it into something functional and pretty at the same time.

Project Recipe
1 empty tin with plastic lid (big enough to hold a TP roll) TP roll with the inner cardboard removed.
Paper: Summer Garden Simply scrapin kit ( If you are a SU demo you can still purchase it under the bulk buying program), Certainly celery, So saffron, Baja blue ( Bashful blue would work just as well).
Accessories: Scalloped circle punch, 1" circle punch, Circle scissor plus, So saffron grosgrain ribbon, Beautiful wings embosslit die, Glue dots.

My very first blog...

Well here it goes. This blog business is all new to me so please bare with me as I figure things out.

Today has been a fairly quiet day and I wanted to make a card but wasn't sure just where to begin. Sooo I thought I'd just make up my own challenge today. I decided I would just close my eyes, pull out a sheet of DSP and then while my eyes were still closed I would choose a stamp set. What ever the luck of the draw was I would have to just go with it.
To my surprise I had pulled out a sheet of Candy Lane DSP(retired) and the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set and these are what I came up with. Enjoy.
